APSWs assist people to access supports and services available to any member of the community, help people to acquire skills for daily living and support people to solve their own problems.  APSWs provide case management services, coordinate community resources, and liaise with other service providers to develop service plans.  Upon request of the person being supported, APSWs facilitate involvement with applicable government funded services, such as the Ontario Disability Support Program, Passport program, Legal Aid, and Ontario works.  

 

This is a voluntary program which can be accessed through an application process with Developmental Services Ontario.(DSO)  KACL APSWs provide services in both French and English to people living in Kenora, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, and the surrounding areas, including Northern communities.  

 

It is the objective of this MCSS funded program to support adults with an intellectual disability who are living on their own to live as independently, safely and securely as possible in the community.
