Tea at the HubMondays (Except May 20), 10am-12pm – Visit and enjoy a beverage and conversation. No sign-up required, donations are appreciated.

Seedling, Plant, and Perennial Exchange – Monday May 13, 4pm-6pm – Do you have extra seedlings? Splitting your perennials? Too many indoor or outdoor plans? Bring them into the Arts Hub May 13 or drop them off the week before to exchange with others in the neighbourhood. Share with others, get answers to your gardening questions, meet, greet, and network with gardeners in Kenora. Seeds will be available for you to take home free of charge as well, courtesy of many neighbourhood oranizations!

Forest Lore Junk Journal – Tuesdays May 7, 14, 21, 28 and June 4, 11, 18, 25th, 1pm-2:30pm – May brings us a new 8-week session creating a junk journal. Creative exploration will be the focus of sessions. Learn what a junk journal is, techniques for making them, and the manipulation of materials to include in your own personal journal. In the end, we will delight in the process of creating the journal based on the lore of the forest and what erupts from your intuiton, working the materials to find your vision. If you are interested in exploring junk journaling with the Arts Hub, please call to sign up at 807-407-5660. The fee will be $25 for the session and registration is required. Space is limited.

Dungeons and Dragons – Tuesday, May 14, 5:30pm-8pm – Join us as we prepare to go on an adventure with tabletop roleplaying game Dungeons and Dragons. We will explore this fantasy world, forge friendships, and hopefully save the day! This series will be played in a collection of one-shots, so if you cannot make it to all the games, don’t worry! Just jump in when you can! Please come to play with a level 3 character, if you do not have one there will be some premade at the event for you. For more information, please call 807-407-5660.

Open Studio – Wednesdays, (Except May 15) 10am-12pm – Come on in, the doors are open! You’re in good company as guests gather at the Arts Hub to chat about the local arts scene and access a variety of art supplies. Feel free to enjoy a cup of something delicious and sun yourself in the artful atmosphere. For particular projects, special considerations or questions pleae RSVP to Laura at 807-407-5660 or just drop on by! No signup is required, donations are appreciated.

Laughter Yoga – Wednesdays, (Except May 15) 12pm-1pm – Laughter yoga is an exercise program developed by Indian physician Dr. Madan Kataria in Mumbai, who things laughter is the very best medicine! It combines laughter with yoga and breathing techniques, called Pranayama, which brings more oxygen into our body and brain making us feel more energetic and healthier. Sketch-a-doodle – “Characters” – Wednesdays, May 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, June 5, 12, 19, 3:30pm-4:30pm – Join Tersoo as he leads us through another session of sketching and doodling, creating a personal selection of characters in this workshop. Build your skills while learning tips and techniques for doodling your own distinct illustrations. Drop-ins are welcome and there is no charge for this workshop.

Core Gift Cafe – Fridays, May 3, 24, 31 (please note, cancelled on May 10, 17) 11am-1pm – This event is open to all whether you are already familiar with the Core Gift process or if you’re new and curious to learn more. A trained facilitator will be happy to chat at the cafe to help you find out more about your own Core Gift discovery process and to talk about how to help others discover theirs. Visit the Core Gift Institute to learn more about walking your purposeful path. RSVPs are appreciated, but drop-ins are also welcome!

Videogame Night – Friday May 31, 5pm-7pm – Join us for an evening of video games. $10 per person, please sign up! Pizza and coffee is provided.

Events Happening in the Community

Sports Blitz Tuesdays, May 7, 14, 21, 28 1:00-3:00pm at Garrow Park (Rec Centre Walking Track if raining)– Come out and try pickle ball, wiffle ball, badminton or kick a ball at Garrow Park. No experience is necessary, just fun and a reason to get your body moving and enjoy some laughs.

Jam Night @ Bob’s Burgers – Tuesday, May 28, 6:30pm-9pm – Jam Night with Thomas Aquinas Music Department wraps up for the season in this final event! Bring your voice, instrument, story, or poem to share and support live local talent! We hope to see you there. Call or text 807-407-7449 for more info. Rise to the Rhythm @ Anicinabe Park – Thursday May 9, 23, 4pm-5pm – Explore West African hand drumming with Tersoo at Anicinabe Park! This is a non-traditional drum circle that is open to all abiliities and drums are provided.
