The program will be offered to KACL students 15 – 17 years of age looking for summer employment. The sessions will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. and will run May 2, 2006 until June 13, 2006.
Each student must register and be able to attend all 7 sessions and be accompanied by a support person. The support person can be a friend, relative, SSAH worker, etc. and must also be available to attend all sessions. Together they will complete the homework assigned between sessions.
The students will explore several topics preparing them to apply for summer work
opportunities. Topics will be as follows:

Tuesday, May 9 Where will I find a job?
Tuesday, May 16 Completing Application Forms
Tuesday, May 23 Resume writing and cover letters
Tuesday, May 30 Pre-interview steps i.e. Follow-up to applications
Tuesday, June 6 The Interview
Tuesday, June 13 Tips for maintaining your job.
Deadline to register is Thursday, April 20, 2006.
If the student would benefit from further involvement of a Community Support Worker, a referral should be made to the Children's Augmentative Program.
