To augment goals set out with the family, student and service provider(s) by having opportunities to build relationships, teach and generalize skills in a supportive, respectful and positive environment in order to enhance participation and inclusion within the community.
The parent is the team leader and key communicator for their child.Their responsibility is to vision for the child, establish and prioritize goals, and provide support to meet these goals through ongoing support at home, communication to other settings and transporting the child to and from sessions/activities.
The consultant makes the referral to the Augmentative Education Program on behalf the family.They assist and support families in setting and prioritizing goals and help facilitate the implementation of these goals.The consultant is a resource for ideas for parents as well as the CSW and assists the family in problem solving in regards to scheduling and transportation. They assist in the follow-up generalization of skills in other settings.The consultant is a communication link between the family and CSW.
The CSW begins with establishing a relationship with the child and the family.They work in a intensive situation as well as support inclusive activities in the community.They are responsible to establish strategies and approaches to follow through on the goals set by the families and create a positive environment for the children to learn.The CSW assists in the evaluation of goals with the consultant and the family through verbal communication and reports.
The CSW is responsible to attend training opportunities as requested and keep up on current information in the field.They are to make the supervisor aware of their equipment and training needs and any problems that arise
It is the responsibility of the supervisor to administer the Augmentative Education Program, including training and supervising staff, conducting staff meetings, planning and supplying resources and equipment for the program, scheduling, problem solving, etc.The supervisorintakes and prioritizes referrals for the consultants to best fit with the CSW and family schedules.The supervisor is a support to CSW, consultants and families.
It is the responsibility of the child to HAVE FUN while learning.As the child matures the child will have more input into their goals and plan for their future.
