Kids' Zone Program

Kids' Zone is a non-profit program of Children's Services that provides both full day and half day programs for children 2 to 6 years of age, as a well as a program for after school, P. D... days and summer care for children 5 to 10 years of age.
The purpose of Kids' Zone is to provide an early structured, inclusive learning situation as well as opportunities for older children to grow and develop in a safe, caring and inclusive environment.
The goals of Kids’ Zone are as follows:
1. Provide age appropriate opportunities to children in all areas of development.
2. Foster self-esteem.
3.. In cooperation with parents or caregivers work towards developing self control.
4. Provide an environment that develops social skills and emotional stability.
A variety of activities will be provided to stimulate imagination; encourage co-operation with and respect for others and promote self-esteem.
The purpose of Kid's Zone is to provide an early structured learning environment where pre-schoolers, both developmentally delayed and non-delayed, have the opportunity to master the skills necessary for a healthy, happy, productive life.
Kid's Zone goals are as follows:
1) Promote maximum intellectual development;
2) Encourage comprehensive and expressive language;
3) Provide training in self-help skills that will increase their abilities and foster feelings of positive self-worth;
4) Stimulate optimal physical growth;
5) Provide an environment that develops social skills and emotional stability
The Kid's Zone staff, in consultation with other children's programs, provides individual program plans to meet the needs of pre-schoolers who are developmentally delayed. Programming for individual children occurs within the context of the larger group activities. These activities are arranged to encourage each child to participate at his/her own level.
